Winter 2009
Madsen's Amy Johnson (Accounting) shares a family favorite — Pretzel Salad! Amy recalls, "My family has enjoyed this recipe for years and is especially a favorite during the holidays!”
Amy's Pretzel Salad
First Layer
2 Cups coarsely crushed pretzels
¾ Cup melted butter or margarine
3 Tablespoons of Sugar
Second Layer
1 8 Oz. package cream cheese
1 Cup sugar
2 Cups whipped topping (small container)
Third Layer
1 6 Oz. package strawberry flavored gelatin
2 Cups boiling water
1 10 Oz. box frozen strawberries
Pre-heat oven to 400 degrees.
First Layer: put in a 9X13X2 inch pan. Bake for 8 minutes. Remove and let cool.
Second Layer: Beat sugar into cream cheese, stir in whipped topping. Spread over cooled first layer.
Third Layer: Mix gelatin, boiling water and strawberries together and set aside for 10 minutes. Pour over second layer. Chill thoroughly and top with whipped cream.
